So, Mother took the kitten outside this evening. All went well, and she had me come out to see that he'd flopped over on one of the paths the dogs have worn along the fence, looking all chill and relax and adorable... So I picked him up, had him all chill and relax, and Mother was petting him...
When Tucker barked at something beyond the fence. It freaked the kitten out and he clawed her hand(Again, because he'd gotten her a few days ago), and as I was trying to detach him from her hand, he got my arm, so we dropped him, and he took off for the back...
At least this time the battle wounds aren't the cat's fault. As in, he wasn't just being a douche, he wasn't irritated, he had been startled by the dog's doing. Tomorrow, there will be photos of my own battle wounds, both from the other day(Some are healed up a bit already and harder to see), and today's. I'm just glad his nails went UP my arm, not ACROSS, or I'd be at the hospital right now to get my arm bandaged for heavy bleeding.
Kittens... Are painful.

Fish, cats, dogs
It's taken me long enough, but I figured out why the photos I took on my 3DS weren't on the SD card...
...
...
I had to change the setting so it saved to it. Whoops! With that said, I present blurry pictures of my fish! Because they won't hold still. Some of these ARE rather old - I took them a couple weeks back, while others are much newer. I've also come to find out, in this time, that George and Orson aren't Mollies, but Platys. I'm still not sold on the notion that "The ones with the Mickey Mouse spotting are boys", though.
Meet Isaac! Loves the camera... I think he has to be the most bold fish of the four!
Nikolai's shy... This was his first photo, and he's STILL one of the most shy fish in the tank!
Here I present Orson, with his fat belly. Though I'm still worried that that could turn out to be not fat but baby fish... I'm not exactly prepared for baby fish.
Two for one - These are the clearest pictures of George I have. Okay, maybe HE'S the shyest... Or at least the most camera shy.
Of course, since I'd figured the camera out fully, I took the opportunity for some other pictures. Yes, I'm going to spam you.
I present Sugar, who believes dearly that the corner of my bed next to my head is HER spot when I'm in bed, and the stuffed lion in the corner of the space is her pillow.
Tucker wanted outside, so I ended up shooting this through the window of the back door. He has to be one of the happiest dogs in the park as far as yard space goes - There's enough room between that porch and the back fence for me to hit a tennis ball with a racket and NOT clear the fence.
Which means lots of running... Provided he doesn't do too much and end up having a seizure.
His brother(Half-brother through the same mother), Hershey, is more content to just stand or lay around. I'm surprised I caught him standing, really. Dog's so lazy he'll lay down to eat and drink... Whatever floats his boat, I guess.
And of course, Qing, the kitten of the house, and little hell-raiser. Since it's warm, I'm taking him out back more and more. This just happens to be the cover for the truck bed, with one of our old bikes relaxing against it. We need to take the weed wacker to that mess, I know... Then we can work on cleaning up the last of it. Somewhere in there is the riding lawn mower...
Ah, there it is! The big goal of last season was keeping the kitten inside, since it was cold and wet. Now that it's warming up, the big goals are keeping him in the yard, and keeping him out of the shed and out of UNDER the shed.... Since we don't know what's decided to chillax in there.
Of course, earlier in the day, the kitten had decided he didn't like me trying to hurry him inside and clawed my hand up... I may or may not regale you with the battle wounds. I'll also not be posting as much photo-spam as this post had again.

Tomcat is pregnant? Nope, mollies!
I put the goldfish in the tank Sunday night, named them Monday - The orange fish is now Nicolae, for Nicolae Tesla, and the white and orange is Isaac, for Isaac Asimov. Yes, I went nerd. They've settled in wonderfully, and Isaac's even eating directly from the surface. Qing was watching them several times, so I can say at least ONE of the cats is interested in these little things swimming in the big glass box. But this morning, I found a surprise...
There were two more fish in the tank! Was one of the goldfish female...? No, no, goldfish don't give live birth... Guppies do, goldfish don't. Goldfish lay eggs. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the shape of the fins...
There were MOLLIES in my tank! Where had they come from?
Mother bought them yesterday. Apparently they were on sale... Well, nothing to be done now but make sure nobody goes belly-up, and name the new additions! It didn't take me nearly as long as the goldfish - The mollies, an orange and a white(Getting a pattern here...) are now named George(For George Orwell) and Orson(For Orson Welles).
I need to take pictures one day...

They're watching...
I moved the fish bowl from the bathroom to my room so their water can hopefully be around the same temp as the tank when I put them in tomorrow night... I swear the goldfish are watching their new tank all "Sweeeeeet..."
Setting up a fish tank...
So my mother brought home two goldfish Wednesday night. They've been sitting in a bowl in the bathroom since then, and yesterday we got them a tank, 5 gallons...
Good LORD they get touchy about what to use in the instructions! You have to use a NEW sponge or wash cloth to clean the tank(I used a new pouf I bought last night, too), to clean the gravel you need to use basically a NEW bucket not exposed to chemicals(I used metal pots... And strainers.)... Basically, they want you to shell out more than the initial $50+tax you already have to for the tank and set-up. Granted, yes, a new bucket and sponge would run about $3, but still... A bit much, yes?
Did I mention they're goldfish? They're feeder fish. The fun part's going to be moving them to the new tank... They're going from what I think is a 1-gallon bowl to a 5-gallon tank. Which, their prospects are already pretty good - They came in a bag that was full of water so grody, you could barely see the FISH. They're rather shy little buggers, and I have no names for them yet, but they're at least distinct from each other. I may see about getting them a third buddy who's not nearly as shy... 5 gallons is a lot of space for just two little fish!
Which, speaking of fish, not to go on a tangent, but... We saw GlowFish while we were at Wal-Mart last night(Yes, I shop there, no shame here!)... You know how most things at Wal-Mart are often much cheaper than the specialized stores? $5. For a fish that's smaller than my finger nail clippings. And that's just ONE fish, so if you want a school of them, that's $20+, just for the FISH. So how much was the tank running?
Around about $30, I want to say... It was rather pricey and actually cost MORE than the tank I bought for the goldfish. Yeah... Just for $5-a-pop fish. At least you can say that if they got out into the ecosystem... GlowFish are all sterile(Never mind how they get more of them). Though now I wonder, if a trout ate GlowFish, would it begin to glow, too...?
Man the hum of that filter's actually quite soothing... I may mute my TV tonight so I can fall asleep to that instead of the TV!

First post!
So, first post... The inaugural post! I dunno, this feels like... Livejournal or something. Yeah, old school there. Mostly I think I'll just... Dump thoughts here, observations and the like... This is a REALLY lame first post, isn't it? I promise my next will be much better!
So you may be wondering, why "Voice of a Kitten?" Well, some buddies from over on Gaia and I started to Skype... And as I don't hear my voice like everybody ELSE does, I sound an octave or two lower to my OWN ears compared to what others hear, so I have no idea just how high pitched my voice actually IS... And it is apparently adorable, like a kitten. Incidentally... I have cats. 5 cats. So that may have something to do with it. One day I'll spam you with images.
Anyway, this is... A boring first post, and I don't want to ramble on about nothing, so off I go to play with blogspot and figure it out!
